Franco-Canadien<\/p>\n

Issu de la culture gothique\/post punk des ann\u00e9es 80\/90, j\u2019ai gard\u00e9 ce go\u00fbt pour le noir et le diff\u00e9rent.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s un parcours d\u2019ing\u00e9nieur en informatique en France, je suis parti plus de 7 ans au Qu\u00e9bec pour compl\u00e8tement changer d\u2019activit\u00e9 : apr\u00e8s l\u2019\u00e9cole des m\u00e9tiers du meuble de Montr\u00e9al, je deviens \u00e9b\u00e9niste d\u2019art.<\/p>\n

Rentr\u00e9 en France, je deviens tailleur de pierres.<\/p>\n

Puis je m\u2019int\u00e9resse aux travaux des grands photographes qui venaient eux aussi \u00ab m\u2019inviter ailleurs \u00bb.<\/p>\n

\u00c9videmment Lee Jeffries, Bruce Gilden, Hirvin Penn, Doroth\u00e9a Lange, Richard Avedon ou Gordon Parks pour ne citer qu\u2019eux.<\/p>\n

10 ans apr\u00e8s, j\u2019ai os\u00e9, je suis sorti, j\u2019ai commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 prendre des photos de rue.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est tout naturellement que je me suis int\u00e9ress\u00e9 a ceux qui vivent, ou finissent dans la rue : les SDF, les marginaux, les gueules cass\u00e9es, vous savez ceux dont la pr\u00e9sence d\u00e9range.<\/p>\n

Mon travail photographique vous propose de plonger l\u00e0 o\u00f9 vos yeux n\u2019osent regarder profond\u00e9ment : dans leurs yeux.<\/p>\n

Vous verrez dans ces yeux qu\u2019il y a du beau, du bon, du profond et du vrai.<\/p>\n

Les regarder, c\u2019est avoir le courage de remettre en visible la dignit\u00e9, ne jamais accepter l\u2019indiff\u00e9rence, s\u2019autoriser \u00e0 rencontrer l\u2019autre.<\/p>\n

Franco-Canadian<\/p>\n

Coming from the gothic\/post-punk culture of the 80s and 90s, I<\/p>\n

have kept this taste for darkness and difference.<\/p>\n

After working as a computer engineer in France, I moved to Quebec for over seven years to completely change careers: after graduating from the Montreal School of Furniture Trades, I became a fine cabinetmaker.<\/p>\n

Back in France, I became a stonemason.<\/p>\n

Then I became interested in the work of great photographers who also came to \u00ab\u00a0invite me elsewhere.\u00a0\u00bb Of course, Lee Jeffries, Bruce Gilden, Hirvin Penn, Dorothea Lange, Richard Avedon, and Gordon Parks, to name a few.<\/p>\n

10 years later, I took the plunge, went out, and started taking street photos.<\/p>\n

It was only natural that I became interested in those who live, or end up, on the streets: the homeless, the marginalized, the broken- hearted, you know, those whose presence is disturbing.<\/p>\n

My photographic work invites you to dive into the depths your eyes dare not look: into their eyes.<\/p>\n

You will see in those eyes that there is beauty, goodness, depth, and truth.<\/p>\n

To look at them is to have the courage to make dignity visible, never accept indifference, and allow yourself to encounter the other.<\/p>\n

All the people in this exhibition help us understand our relationship with others.<\/p>\n
